Riding because I can!
I am in my sixties and really enjoy finding alternate ways of getting around town. On my bike is my first choice!
I have been cycling all my life and feel most at home when I am in the saddle. Last year my subdivision was getting repaved and I could not easily ride my road bike from my front door, so I looked into getting a fat tired bike. My family took that idea and gave me enough money for my birthday to get me started. I found Framed bikes online and for less than $800 I had my first fat tire bike.
Now I consider myself a Fat Tired Guy!
When I was younger I used to consider myself a cyclist. My favorite ride was my 1983 Peugeot road bike. 12 speeds, shifters on the down tube, no indexing! I still have that bike, it needs some TLC, and my goal is to get it back on the road this summer.
Now a days, I push myself to commute back and forth to work as many days a week I can handle. It's 9 miles in and 10 miles home, I shift my route home to avoid traffic. The ride is relatively flat with about 300 ft of climbing in the last 2.5+ miles
